In this official collaboration, STRØM reinterprets several of Magritte’s iconic works through minimalist graphics and back prints, translating surrealism into everyday clothing.
The collection explores three different interpretations of Magritte’s work.
Some pieces feature direct references to Magritte’s paintings as large back prints.
Iconic works such as Le Seize Septembre and The Man with the Bowler Hat are translated onto garments while preserving the poetic atmosphere of the originals.
Other pieces focus on small details taken from Magritte’s paintings.
Elements such as the bowler hat, the pipe, or floating objects are reworked into the minimal STRØM icon style, creating subtle everyday graphics.
To honour Magritte’s presence in Antwerp, one design reinterprets a well known motif.
In this piece, the figure with the bowler hat is replaced by the Cathedral of Antwerp, connecting Magritte’s surreal world with the city where STRØM was founded.
